How do I turn an MP3 into falling piano notes?

Drop the MP3 (or WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG or AAC file) into your MIDI.PLAY library. The app listens to the recording, works out the notes and turns them into falling notes you can play along to.

Turning a recording into notes is called transcription: the app listens to the audio and writes down which notes are played, and when. MIDI.PLAY does this for you.

Steps

  1. Open MIDI.PLAY.
  2. Drag the audio file into your library, or click to choose it.
  3. Choose whether to split the song into instruments.
  4. Wait while the notes are worked out, then press play.
