Two steps can happen when you add a song, and you choose whether the slower one runs.
- Working out the notes (transcription) takes about a minute or two for a typical song. The falling notes start as soon as the first ones are ready, so you can begin before it finishes.
- Splitting into instruments is optional and takes a few minutes. The screen gives an estimate before you choose.
Both happen once. The result is kept in your library, so the song opens instantly after that.
MIDI files need neither step and open right away.
